Does Sam's Club Accept EBT?
Warehouse Club
Updated August 2026
Yes, Sam's Club takes EBT — in the club, through the Scan & Go app, and for online delivery and pickup orders too. Like Costco, you need a membership to shop there, but Sam's Club offers a real discount for it: SNAP recipients (and people on several other assistance programs) who join online as new members get 60% off a Club membership or $50 off a Plus membership, verified quickly through ID.me.
That discount is only for new members who haven't held a Sam's Club membership in the past 6 months, so it won't help if you're just renewing.
What You Can Buy at Sam's Club With EBT
Any SNAP-eligible food is fair game — produce, meat, dairy, snacks, frozen foods, and more. Hot prepared food, alcohol, tobacco, vitamins, and other non-food items aren't covered, so keep those separate if you're buying both.
You can pay with EBT at a regular register, at self-checkout, and through the Scan & Go app where you ring up items on your phone as you shop. Sam's Club also lets you add your EBT card to your online wallet and use it for delivery or curbside pickup orders placed through samsclub.com or the app — just know that delivery and service fees themselves usually can't be paid with EBT.
