Does 7-Eleven Accept EBT?
Convenience Store
Updated August 2026
Yes, but only for cold food and drinks — 7-Eleven takes EBT in nearly all its stores and through the 7-Eleven app for regular SNAP-eligible groceries, but it can't apply to hot prepared items like roller-grill taquitos, hot dogs, pizza, or hot coffee, since federal SNAP rules block hot food everywhere, not just at 7-Eleven.
So the honest answer is "it depends what's in your basket": cold groceries, yes; anything hot and ready to eat, no.
What You Can Buy at 7-Eleven With EBT
With EBT at 7-Eleven you can buy packaged snacks, bread, milk, frozen food, cold drinks, candy, and even a cold Slurpee — basically anything cold that meets USDA's SNAP food list. You can't use it for hot food, tobacco, alcohol, lottery tickets, or non-food items like phone chargers or cleaning supplies.
EBT works at self-checkout the same way it works at the regular register — just select EBT as your payment method when you scan out. You can also pay with EBT through the 7-Eleven app for mobile checkout or online ordering, though you'll need to add your card under payment methods first, and not every store supports app-based checkout — the app can show you which nearby locations do.
