Florida calls its SNAP program the Food Assistance Program, run by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) through the ACCESS Florida system. Approved households get their monthly benefit loaded onto an EBT card — commonly called the ACCESS Card — that works at grocery stores and other authorized retailers statewide.

Where You Can Use Your Florida EBT Card
Your EBT card works like a debit card at any USDA-authorized retailer nationwide — major grocery chains and big-box stores such as Walmart, Target, Kroger, Costco, Sam's Club, Aldi, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and most local and regional supermarkets, plus many convenience stores and farmers markets. A growing number of retailers, including Walmart.com, Amazon, DoorDash, and Uber Eats, also accept SNAP EBT for online grocery orders in many areas, though delivery and service fees usually can't be paid with benefits.
SNAP benefits cover food and food-producing seeds or plants, but not hot prepared foods, alcohol, tobacco, or non-food items — some states also restrict specific items like soda or candy, noted below if it applies to Florida.
Florida SNAP Income Limits
Florida uses Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility to raise the Food Assistance Program's gross income limit to 200% of the federal poverty level, above the standard federal minimum of 130%.
In plain terms, that lets many more working and moderate-income Florida households qualify for food assistance than the base federal rule would allow on its own, usually without a separate asset or savings test getting in the way.

EBT Fraud & Card Skimming Protection
Protect your benefits from theft
Card skimming and cloning has affected SNAP households nationwide, and Congress's temporary federal reimbursement program covered theft between October 2022 and December 20, 2024. Florida's Department of Children and Families confirms that program officially ended on that date, with no state-funded continuation — there is currently no reimbursement path for theft after the federal cutoff, though you can still file a police report and request a replacement card.
If you believe your benefits have been stolen, file a police report with local law enforcement and call EBT Customer Service at 1-888-356-3281 (or log into your MyACCESS account) to request a replacement card.

Traveling or shopping online?
Florida doesn't automatically block out-of-state or online transactions by default, but the state's ebtEDGE "Protect My Account" feature lets you voluntarily toggle on a Block Out-of-State Transactions setting and a separate Block Internet Transactions setting anytime through the ebtEDGE Cardholder Portal or mobile app.
