Does Costco Accept EBT?

Yes — every Costco warehouse in the country accepts EBT cards for SNAP-eligible groceries. The one big catch: you have to be a paying Costco member to shop there. Costco doesn't waive its membership fee for EBT shoppers, and you can't use your EBT card to buy a membership either.
If you're not already a member, see if a family member or friend can bring you as a guest, or weigh the annual membership fee (starting around $65) against how much you'd actually save buying in bulk.
What You Can Buy at Costco With EBT
You can buy any SNAP-eligible food at Costco — fresh produce, meat, dairy, bread, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, even seeds and plants that grow food. What you can't buy with EBT: the famous rotisserie chicken and anything else from the hot food court, plus alcohol, vitamins and supplements, pet food, and household or paper products. If your cart has both eligible and non-eligible items, plan on two separate transactions — one paid with EBT, one with another payment method.
EBT only works inside the physical warehouse. Costco doesn't accept EBT for online orders at Costco.com or through Costco same-day delivery (powered by Instacart), so grocery trips need to happen in person.
