In Rhode Island, Stop & Shop is the most common supermarket banner, and Shaw's is also a familiar option across the state. Dave's Fresh Marketplace, a locally owned chain based in East Greenwich, is Rhode Island's largest independent grocer and a name many residents recognize. Like nearly every mainstream grocery store, all of these accept SNAP EBT. You can find these and other SNAP-authorized retailers listed in this site's store locator by city.

Rhode Island operates a SNAP Restaurant Meals Program. Eligible elderly, disabled, or homeless SNAP participants (and their spouses) can use their EBT card to buy prepared meals at participating restaurants statewide.
